Ultimate Guide: Best Optimizations for One UI 7 (Android 14) – Speed, Battery, and Customization

With the release of One UI 7, Samsung has introduced a refined and feature-rich version of Android 14 that pushes the boundaries of customization, efficiency, and device performance. But as powerful as it is, One UI still benefits greatly from manual optimizations that can enhance speed, battery life, and user experience—especially for power users.

Whether you're rocking a Galaxy S24 Ultra or a mid-range A-series device, here are the best advanced optimizations for One UI 7 that go beyond basic tweaks.

⚙️ 1. Debloat Samsung Bloatware (Safely)

Samsung devices come with a suite of pre-installed apps that many users don’t need.

🔧 Recommended Tools:

  • ADB AppControl (PC)

  • Package Disabler Pro (No root required)

  • Shizuku + AppManager (for non-root users)

🔥 Safe-to-disable apps:

  • Samsung Internet (if using Chrome)

  • Samsung Free

  • AR Zone, Bixby Routines (if not used)

  • Samsung Kids, SmartThings (optional)

Warning: Always research each package before disabling it. Disabling system-critical apps can lead to bootloops.

🔋 2. Maximize Battery Life with Deep Settings

One UI 7 includes a revamped battery usage panel and smarter adaptive battery features. Still, manual intervention can go a long way.

Key Optimizations:

  • Settings > Battery > Background Usage Limits
Enable “Put unused apps to sleep” and manually sleep apps that send unnecessary notifications.

  • Disable high-refresh rate for non-gaming apps using Battery Guru or setEdit (advanced users).

  • Settings > Device Care > Auto Optimization
Enable “Auto restart at set times” once a week for better RAM management.

3. Enhance UI Fluidity & Reduce Lag

While One UI is smooth, animations and heavy UI layers can occasionally slow down mid-range devices.

Animation Tweaks:

  • Developer Options > Animation scale settings
Set all animation scales to 0.5x for snappier transitions.

🧠 RAM Plus Optimization:

  • Settings > Device Care > Memory > RAM Plus
If you have 8GB+ RAM, set RAM Plus to 2GB or disable entirely—it can slow down devices with ample physical RAM.

🧽 Clean up RAM regularly:

Use Good Guardians > Galaxy App Booster weekly to re-optimize app binaries for faster execution.

🎨 4. Customize Like a Pro with Good Lock

Good Lock is Samsung’s secret weapon for advanced customization.

📦 Must-Have Good Lock Modules:

  • QuickStar – Customize Quick Settings Panel (add brightness slider, hide icons).

  • NavStar – Modify the navigation bar, gestures, and layout.

  • Theme Park – Build your own themes with accent colors, shapes, fonts.

  • One Hand Operation+ – Create gesture shortcuts for edge swipes.

Good Lock is frequently updated, and One UI 7 versions introduce better Material You integration and smoother transitions.

📶 5. Network, Connectivity & Security Tips

🧭 GPS Accuracy:

  • Settings > Location > Location Services > Google Location Accuracy
Turn it ON for precise GPS, then disable when not needed.

📲 5G Battery Drain:

If you don’t need high-speed data constantly, go to:

  • Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode
Set to LTE/3G/2G (Auto) to save battery.

🛡️ Privacy Dashboard:

Use Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy to audit which apps access location, microphone, or camera frequently.

🛠️ 6. Advanced Power User Tweaks

These are for more experienced users who understand the risks.

🧪 With ADB:

  • Disable logging services (logd, logcat readers)

  • Disable com.samsung.android.da.daagent (Digital Wellbeing services)

💻 With Termux (Rooted Devices):

Use fstrim and manual CPU governor adjustments for ultra-level control.

💬 Community-Recommended Apps for Tweaking One UI 7

  • Battery Guru – Advanced battery statistics and charge controller.

  • Galaxy MaxHz – Control screen refresh rate per app (root optional).

  • Material Files – Cleaner, ad-free file manager.

  • Nova Launcher – Faster alternative to Samsung Launcher (for purists).

🧼 Bonus: Minimal Setup Checklist

Feature Recommendation
Always-On Display Off (or Tap to Show)
Edge Panels Off (if unused)
Motion Smoothness Standard (120Hz → 60Hz)
Auto Brightness Off (manual ~40–60%)
Background Data Restrict for non-essentials
  • 6 months later...

Hey, how's it going? Could I please have access to this download? I've been experiencing major battery drain and game lag with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I've had this phone for about 1+ year (give or take) and it's been running super smooth but the past couple of months I've noticed a lag and major battery drain. I've tried a couple of tips from Admins using the Developer Mode settings and still can't figure out what's been causing these issues. I love this phone and do not want to upgrade to the newer ones because as far as I'm concerned, it's the best Galaxy on the market despite what others may think of it. And paying over a grand for this phone, I'm not ready or able to cough up another grand for a new one. Thanks in advance!
