Overview: Waze is the world's largest community-based traffic and navigation app. Join drivers in your area who share real-time traffic & road info to save time, gas money, and improve daily commuting for all.

Just by driving with Waze open, you're already contributing tons of real-time traffic information to your local community. You can also actively report accidents, police traps and other hazards you see on the road. Get road alerts along your route and find the cheapest gas prices around you shared by the community. Plus, you can add friends, send locations or keep others posted on your arrival time.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Waze will automatically shut down if you run it in the background and haven't driven for a while.

What's New:
Start State - new feature designed to help you make better informed transportation decisions by providing personalized insights as soon as you open Waze. You can see your predicted and upcoming drives, traffic conditions, and suggested leaving and arrival times after you enter your target time.
In this first phase, Start State supports only home/work suggestions, planned drives, calendar events, and carpool confirmed rides. In order for Start State to work properly, Home and Work addresses must be set up. 

IMPORTANT: If you can’t see Start State, don’t worry - To ensure full stability of the store intended release (RC version), this build is being sent to only 50% of our testers *out of which* only 50% will be exposed to the Start State card (as part of a test). Please make sure to highlight your version number whenever submitting feedback, to be sure you are using the right build.
This major update has known issues including: Start State is not currently available in Landscape and doesn’t support night mode. Also, Start State drawer remains open when clicking on map reports
While using the feature, please have the pay attention to the following:
Set up your commute time and check the predictions ETA times
Traffic info for each drive prediction should appear before the drive (heavier / lighter traffic)
Look when cards appear and disappear. Do you get the right cards?
Relevance and freshness of card information. Do you get relevant and useful information?
General performance of the feature - is it working well for you?
We’re excited to announce that our annual BETA BATTLE will soon begin. The Battle will begin August 30 and will run through the next release cycle (for version 4.55). All beta testers will be notified with full details in a separate email on August 30 so stay tuned!
