Google Talkback v4.3.1 beta2

Requirements: 4.1 and up

Overview: TalkBack is an Accessibility Service that helps blind and vision-impaired users interact with their devices.





Talkback adds spoken, audible, and vibration feedback to your device. It is a system application that was pre-installed on most devices and is updated when the accessibility service is improved.

This app is only activated if you explicitly turn on Accessibility.

Steps to activate Accessibility:

1. Go to Settings

2. Select Accessibility

(Android 3.2 and earlier)

3. Enable Accessibility checkbox

4. Enable TalkBack checkbox

(Android 4.0)

3. Select TalkBack and enable the switch

4. Select back and enable explore-by-touch

(Android 4.1 and above):

3. Select TalkBack and enable the switch


What's New

Uploader's notes:

1. We have added 53 more languages for phonetic pronunciation of letters

2. Delay for phonetic pronunciation of letters was decreased to 1 second to prevent triggering alternative characters

3. TalkBack enabled, suspend and resume states are verbalized

4. When moving by character/word/line etc, the input focus stays within the edit text field

5. TalkBack doesn’t interrupt speech in certain cases, for example, when deleting a phone number in the Phone app

6. TalkBack should no longer crash when switching between keyboard input methods

7. Other bug fixes related to new features announced earlier
